Chapter 33
Madeline thought she had misheard.
She was still in a daze when they got back to the top floor of Republic Garden.
She thought, "What kind of temptation is this? Could it be the kind of thing where I get abducted? But would Steven really abduct a poor, penniless student like me?"
Isabelle had prepared a meal for Madeline. "Maddie, come and have dinner."
She added, "Remember to drink the soup and take your medicine tonight."
Isabelle came over.
After Madeline finished her meal, Isabelle got ready to leave-
Madeline was stunned. "Are you leaving?"
"Of course! I don't work the night shift. I'll come over tomorrow morning to cook for you." Isabelle conveyed the joy of leaving work perfectly and left without hesitation.
Madeline looked at the master bedroom door.
Steven had just gone in to change his clothes.
Madeline mused, "Seriously? Just me and Steven alone?"
Steven walked out of the room. He was dressed casually, complementing his long legs and perfect body proportions.
He sat across the table coldly.
"You'll stay in the room you were in last night."
Madeline took a sip of the soup. "Okay,"
She hesitated for a moment. "Do I need to do your laundry, mop the floor, or cook...?"
"Mary will come to clean during the day."
Madeline drank the soup silently as she thought, "All right then. Maybe he just pitied me and felt sorry for me. After a few days, he might get annoyed and ask me to leave. For now, I'll just stay here and save on accommodation costs." She took her phone, looked at the 1,600 dollars on her card, and silently used it to pay the tuition fee.
She thought, "1,570."
She was speechless.
There were only 200 dollars left.
She still needed money to buy textbooks.
Madeline glanced at Steven-secretly with her amber eyes. "He's really my savior! I might have been sleeping on the streets by now if it weren't for him."
""You're so nice.
M.
She decided to cling to this support. She decided that, at the very least, she would make him feel that the money spent was
worth it.
Madeline's smile became sweeter.
She knew when to yield and not to mess with Steven.
Steven was stunned. He subtly curled his mouth, almost unnoticed.
Her smile was flattering.
"Maybe having a kitten like her at home wouldn't be a bad idea.
Madeline took a shower at night.
She deliberately locked the door of the room.
She was not guarding against Steven. She was just afraid that she would be too impulsive. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
She hugged a pillow as she sat on the bed and enjoyed the beautiful scenery outside the window.
She turned on her phone and checked the WhatsApp messages she had not had a chance to read earlier.
There were more than 99 messages from Layla. She was really stubborn.
The other five brothers also sent "greetings."
The only exception was Henry.
Madeline was puzzled. "Did Henry block me?" He's not scolding me anymore. It's kind of unusual!"
She searched for the keywords on the city news again, and surprisingly, all the news had disappeared. She lay on the bed and shook her fair legs.
Then she opened the Uprian learning software and started an online lesson.
She decided that embarrassing incidents like what had happened in the company would never happen again.
She settled on the bed but could not help pursing her lips.
If it were before, she would have been anxious because of Winslet's injury and would not be in the mood to cat.
However, being by Steven's side, she seemed to have forgotten those troubles and hardships.
Instead, she was thinking about how to carefully and harmoniously get along with him.
She seemed to have glimpsed another way of life.
Madeline rolled her eyes.
In her previous life, the only man she had met was Benjamin.
She had not thought of her former fiancé even once in those few days.
The next day at noon, Steven left Acpcester and went abroad.
Mary specially brought a spare key to Madeline.

Madeline went to work and left on time. When she got off work, the Larson family's car blocked her way.
She frowned in annoyance. "Can you stop clinging to me like a lecch?"
"Your" Layla was getting angry.
Before she could say anything, Benjamin spoke first.
"Maddie, there are many people here. If you don't want everyone to know about your shit, you'd better get in the car first. Let's find a quiet place to talk
Madeline sneered, "I have nothing to talk about with you."
Benjamin said indifferently, "Winnie has registered at school today."
Madeline's breath caught in her throat. Her eyes turned red immediately. "Have you no shame? This is an outright robbery! Do you really think you can keep things under covers?" Benjamin sighed. "You are not yet strong enough now. That's the truth
Layla also sneered, "I tried to talk to you nicely, but you just didn't listen. Now, you won't get a single penny for compensation. And as for anything else, don't even think about it."
Layla did not feel guilty at all and took everything for granted. "You owe Winnie. If you hadn't hurt her so badly, I wouldn't have taken such extreme steps. Madeline, you can't blame anyone but yourself. It's your own fault for being ungrateful.* Madeline looked at this well-maintained woman who was 50 years old.
Her eyes were full of hatred.
These days, she really looked forward to the campus life that originally belonged to her.
However, now, they came to say that Winslet had taken her place.
It was so ridiculous.
Madeline took a step back. Her eyes were filled with desolation
Her emotions were on the verge of collapsing. "You've gone too far. You're like parasites. Can't you get out of my life? Layla, you've never raised me for a single day. I've been home for eight months, and you've never shown me a day of kindness!" Madeline scolded, "What right did you have to treat me like this?
She let out a self-deprecating laugh. "This is a law-based society don't believe you can commit crimes blatantly."
Madeline took out her phone and was about to call the police.
Benjamin quickly got out of the car and pushed her into the vehicle.
He pressed her hands together and said with a terrifying look, "Madeline, if you keep looking for trouble, I won't be so polite anymore! Winnie has already moved into the dorm, and the school has accepted her with her photo and information. Starting today, don't even think about ruining her future again!"
Madeline's elbows were twisted painfully. Tears streamed down her cheeks. "Let me go!"
Benjamin let go for a moment, and Madeline slapped him, leaving him stunned.
Someone rushed over and urgently knocked on the car door.
"What are you doing? Open the door quickly! Maddie! Fortunately, Matilda saw her. She was filled with worry. 'Open the door quickly! Who are you? How dare you touch the CEO's woman? Are you courting death?" Madeline heard the voice and that name while pinned in the car and her gaze flickered. She felt even more aggrieved.
Benjamin hesitated, "What CEO?"
Layla dodged his gaze with guilt in her eyes. "This person is talking nonsense. I'll drive now. Don't mind her. I will keep Madeline locked up this month so that she won't go out and mess with Winnie." The car drove away.
Matilda almost staggered. She was very worried as the woman seemed to be Madeline's mother.
She hurriedly took out her phone and called Brandon, but they were on the plane and had turned off their phones.
Matilda stomped her feet anxiously and sent a message to explain the situation. Now, she could only wait for them to see the message and decide what to do next.
"Although Madeline was taken away by her family, it seems her family treats her badly. Could something bad have happened?"
