Chapter 20
Chapter 20
A few days passed and today was the day, the rescue would be here.
Lou and I hadn't talked since Oliver punched him in the face, he even changed tent with Tate.
We were all packing the tents down and getting our things together as we saw a new group of people
running toward the airport.
They were all covered in dirt and they looked like they hadn't slept for over a week.
When I saw the person leading the group my mouth formed a grin and I screamed out of happiness
when I saw the little kid on top of his shoulders.
"PETER AND HARRY OH MY GOD" I yelled, grappling my crutches and jumping as fast as u could
toward the group of people.
When I looked closer I saw that there was at least 10 more people from the house and a few more new
ones.
"Raven, Lucky, Oliver and Kylie oh my god" He captured me in a warm hug and I almost cried out of joy
when I saw little Harry sitting on top of his shoulders with a smile.
"Harry!" I said, slowly lifting him of Peters shoulders and ignoring the pain in my leg.
Lucky and the others were currently all group hugging Peter and Lucky soon joined me, hugging Harry.
"I knew you would make it, little guy" Harry said with a toothy smile, pulling his fingers through the little
boys hair and making a mess.
I put Harry down to the ground and picked up my crutches agains.
"What happened to you?" He asked with curios eyes, poking at my plaster.
I laughed and looked down at him with adoration.
"I broke it, so now I have to use these to walk around" I waved with the crutches in the air and he
looked at them with big eyes.
"Will I make it better if I kiss it?" He asked, he sounded rather worried and I 'awww'ed.
"I bet" Lucky said, the same look of awe visible in his eyes.
Harry leaned down and kissed the gypsum with a loud 'mwua' sound and I laughed.
"Better?" His small voice wondered and I nodded with certainty.
"Absolutely" I answered, not so truthfully.
He looked proud of his work and then ran after Peter who was currently speaking to Sandra and Tate.
Lucky, Tate and I were eating lunch with Harry and Peter when we started to hear sounds.
I looked up into the sky and saw a bunch of planes and helicopters and I stood up and gasped.
"THEY'RE HERE!" I yelled, Lucky's eyes moved to the sky and his face lit up when he located the
small dots in the sky.
Five minutes later, we had moved our stuff out of the landing area and the first planes made contact
with the ground.
Out jumped at least 10 military's of every plane.
They featured for us to get our stuff and border the plane.
I grabbed Lucky's hand and we got on a plane together with Tate, Peter and Harry. After a few minutes
when the plane had lifted from the group, I noticed Loren and Tyson in a corner.
We were all spread out on the floor, resting our backs on bags and backpacks.
"I am lieutenant Wilson and I'm glad to tell you that you're in safety. We will arrive in Australia in about
12 hours so I would recommend you to take a nap" The man had an American accent and he was
really buff. He had short dark hair and brown eyes, he looked very serious.
"I thought we were going to The U.S?" I asked confusedly, I reckoned Sandra telling us that.
"It's been a change of plans" He answered shortly.
Not feeling satisfied I kept asking. "Why?"
"Since the place we were supposed to take you is diseased" He said, his face not giving away any
emotions and I frowned.
"What?" Lucky asked, his voice filled with concern.
"How is that possible?" Peter continued and I was wondering the same thing.
Europa and America wasn't connected so how could the Zombies get there?
"The virus didn't just come out of nowhere, someone planned for it to happen and the person released
zombies in America too" For a second I thought I saw something close to pain flash in Wilsons eyes
and I furrowed my brow.
"Why would anyone do that?" Harry's small voice asked, surprising us all and I realized that this must
be really confusing for him.
"Because in this world, there's a lot of bad people. And this bad person wants power" The lieutenant
explained softly, sitting down on his knees to explain to him and it made me glad that the man seemed
to have some kind of heart at least.
"Do you know who this person is?" I asked curiously, I was really wondering who would ever wish such
an awful thing upon so many innocent people.
"A group that call themselves 'Shift C'"
I snorted and raised my brow.
"What kind of an name is that? And where did this virus even come from? And why in the name of god
hasn't anyone invented a cure yet?" It was so many things that didn't seem to sum up and I was really
confused.
"The virus was created in a lab not to far away from your airport. It takes over the persons brain and
makes a certain part in the brain go crazy, while the rest of the brain dies down. And that's why the skin All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
starts to rotten, since the brain thinks that the body is dead. The brain center only controls movement
and needs so that's why they're still able to move, even when they have a knife stuck into their heads.
If you want to kill them you have to hit the right part of the brain, the left temple is a good place to
shoot" Wilson explained and I listened carefully.
All of this information may come in handy later.
"People are still working on the cure but so far, no one has come up with anything. The scientists are
making progress though and I heard that they just had a new version of the cure too try. If this works
the apocalypse might end"
Some good news, finally.
After our little chat, I decided to sleep and rested my head on Lucky's chest.
•••
When I woke up, it was in the middle of the night and I looked around, wondering where the f*ck I was.
I then remembered that I was still on the plane and sat up.
I saw a few people talking quietly and a few military's seemed to be awake, but expect from that,
everyone was sleeping.
I looked down at Lucky's relaxed face and laughed quietly when I heard really really quiet snores come
out of his mouth and nose.
I laid down slowly again, careful not to wake him up and decided to go back to sleep.
