His Ex-wife Is An Heiress (Amara and Tobias)

Chapter 0080

"Don't worry, the instructor here is very professional." He said and they were soon approached by a man in his mid thirties.

"Mr. Sattar." He greeted and turned to Amara. "Is she the new jump you've mentioned?"

The stranger, Sattar nodded.

"She is. So please," He playfully shoved her forward. "Take good care of her."

The instructor smiled. "Don't worry miss, I'll make this one of your best memories."

Oh, how she allowed those words fool her. Sadly, Amara only realized this when she stood atop the 160ft crane, overlooking the ground below.

She wasn't afraid of heights, but the mere thought of jumping into the air, with no safety net beneath her, was enough to scare her shitless. "Now, now," The Sattar gently coaxed as he stepped in behind her, strapped in securely, just like she was. "There's nothing to fear."

"We're up 160ft, there's everything to fear."

"Don't worry, the straps will keep you safe."

"But they could rip."

"They won't."

"But what if they do? What if I fall to my death? What if-?"

Sattar places his hand on her shoulder and spun Amara to face him. "Ten seconds, if anything ever happens, I'll be there to save you in ten seconds." Amara bit her lower lip.

"Trust me."

It took some convincing, but Amara eventually calmed down.

"So we'll jump together, on the count of three, alright?"

She nodded, still looking very unsure.

Sattar gave her another reassuring smile, then started the countdown.

"1...2...3!"

At the call of the last number, they both jumped.

For a split second, Amara felt like she was floating, but then, the reality of what was happening kicked in.

She was falling.

Fast.

But just as the panic started to settle in and it seemed like she was nearing the end of her life, the rope stretched, slowing her descent and she was once again floating. Then, the feeling vanished and she was once again falling.

And this repeated itself, over and over.

By the time the bungee jumping was done, Amara's heart was pounding fast. But it was in a good way.

A way that left her wanting that exact same trill once again.

"You should have seen your face," Sattar pointed out when they returned to the surface. "You looked like you were about to cry."

"Well, I nearly did," She admitted. "But this time, it's going to be different."

He smiled. "You want to go a second time?"NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Amara smiled, a real and genuine one. "On the count of 3?"

"On the count of 3."

Apart from the first time Amara had jumped, she had later jumped a total of nine times, with Sattar accompanying her through every single jump.

By the time they had finished, it was well past midnight.

Amar glanced at her watch in surprise. How had so many hours gone by?

"Did you have fun?"

Sattar's question had Amara looking up from her watch.

"I did," She admitted and paused for a bit, hesitantly adding. "Thank you."

He gave her a small smile, the same one he had been giving her for the past four hours and then glanced at his watch.

"Where do you stay, I'll drive you home?"

"Oh, there's no need for the inconvenience. I can call my assistant." Amara was already doing it when she said this. "At this hour?"

He questioned and she waved the phone in front of him when Duncan picked up.

After giving him her address, thankfully he lived more closer to Bloomsbury, than she did, Amada ended the call.

"He'll be here in twenty minutes." She informed.

"Then I'll wait."

Amara didn't object. Neither did she turn down the drink he bought her as they waited. She had just about sipped the last of her warm chocolate when Duncan's familiar car pulled into the driveway. "That's my queue." She stood up. "Thanks for today and...sorry for earlier. Hope you have a nice rest of your week."

With that, she was gone, leaving with the car than had come fetch her before he could even ask her name.

Alone in the morning cold, Elijah Sattar smiled.

"What an interesting woman."

His phone began to ring, interrupting his thoughts.

Elijah took the phone from his pocket and looked at the caller ID. His expression changed, going from happy to grim, in an instant.

What great timing!

Even though he didn't want to, he answered the phone. "Good morning, Father."

"Good morning, Elijah. I suppose you've arrived in England already, have you?"

"Yes."

"Wonderful. Remember the discussion I had with you, the one concerning your soon to be wife?"

Elijah cringed at the word. Wife.

"I remember, Father."

"Good, Elvis has informed me that his granddaughter is currently in England. Meet with her, get to know her and make sure she's likes you."

Ah, so that's why he was shipped off to England.

Elijah felt his irritation spike. "I won't do that."

The line was silent for a few seconds before his father asked. "And why is that?"

"Didn't that spoilt brat reject the proposal you passed along through her grandfather? She doesn't want to be my fiancée and honestly, I don't I can handle someone as high maintenance as her." "Mind the way you speak of the granddaughter of the Crawford family." His father warned.

"I was only saying the truth. I don't like her and I don't think I will. And besides," He played with the empty bottle of Amara's chocolate drink. "I've got my eyes set on someone else."
