Chapter 116 Car Accident
Ranita wasn’t a fool.
If Turner dared to do such a thing at Boulderland Mansion, there was probably someone behind it, but whether it was Amiya, Holly, or Shannon remained unknown.
In short, Turner got away with it because there was no direct evidence.
“Miss Bowman, you have a blood test report. We can report this to the police!” Marlon said.
Ranita had thought about it too, but when it came to Boulderland Mansion and Brendon’s reaction, not to mention Amiya would definitely suppress the matter.
Of course, the most crucial thing was that Ranita didn’t have any tangible evidence! That blood test report couldn’t prove that Turner had forced her to take the medicine. As for Brendon being a witness… just thinking about it made Ranita feel suffocated.
“And Mr. Stuart can be a witness too; we can sue Turner…”
Ranita sighed and interrupted him, “Marlon, reporting this to the police probably won’t work! Can you please continue sending people to watch over Turner for me? Let me know if there is any news!”
If she had been bullied, she would want revenge.
“Okay, I’ll take care of it on my end!” As a professional lawyer, Marlon preferred that Ranita go through legal procedures to protect her rights. The longer this dragged on, the harder it would be.
“Thank you Marlon; also thank you for helping me negotiate with Holly at TranslateAble Studio earlier. I’ll treat you out for dinner sometime.” Ranita was very grateful towards Marlon; he was very capable and managed to settle things with Holly in just two or three days.
Ranita truly admired him.
“Miss Bowman, don’t mention it! And Mr. Webster said that you are an important friend of his; if I can help then I will help. If you want to thank someone, then thank Mr. Webster!”Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
“And Miss Bowman… you’re quite famous in translation circles as well! Today I helped you out but who knows? Maybe someday I’ll need your help too!”
Ranita smiled, “Thanks again Marlon; if there’s anything else where I can assist, just let me know.”
After ending their conversation, Ranita drove home like usual, but after passing several intersections, she finally realized that there had been a car following her all along.
Ranita felt uneasy inside. She unconsciously increased her speed, but the car behind her kept tailing closely. In one turn, the car suddenly accelerated and rammed into the back of her car!
“A bang!”
The intense vibration caused Ranita to lose grip on the steering wheel, and the car shook before hitting a large tree by the road side. Ranita too, flew forward due to pure inertia!
“Ahhhh!!” She screamed in fear, followed by a series of painful impacts. The car finally stopped moving…
The faint smell of blood filled the air, and a damp sensation spread from Ranita’s forehead to her lips. She reached out in a daze and felt a bright red stain…
“Ranita!” Brendon rushed into the hospital room. “How are you?”
Ranita’s face and lips were pale, with a bandage on her forehead to stop the bleeding. She wore striped hospital clothes, and her black hair was let down, giving her a shattered look.
“Brendon!” Ranita’s eyes were moist as she reached out to hug him tightly around his waist when he approached.
Brendon swallowed hard and patted her back while crouching down to comfort her. “It’s okay! It’s okay!”
His warm embrace wrapped around her delicate body as she held onto him tightly. Despite being separated by clothing, she could feel the vigorous power hidden within his lean waist that gave an endless sense of security.
Just then, another figure rushed in with an exaggerated voice, “Brendon! Is Ranita okay?”
The warmth dissipated instantly.
Ranita felt like someone had grabbed hold of her heart again; it hurt so much…
